Daystar University, the Inua Dada Foundation, and Chase Bank signed an MOU that sees 2 female students receiving full scholarships for their undergraduate studies at Daystar University.
The event took place on Friday 12th February, at the Chase Bank Head Office in Westlands, Nairobi. Daystar University’s DVC F & A, Mr. Jomo Gatundu was at hand to sign the MOU together with Inua Dada Founder & Managing Trustee, Mrs. Janet Mbugua-Ndichu and Chase Bank Director of External & Regulatory Affairs Mr. Parmain ole Narikae.
Mr. Jomo Gatundu, expressing much gratitude, congratulated and appreciated Inua Dada Foundation’s efforts of uplifting and empowering the girl child, and in particular, for awarding full scholarships to the two undergraduate students of Daystar University. He also recognized the valiant effort of the Chase Bank Foundation that made possible the awarding of the scholarships.
Such efforts and partnerships are in line with Daystar’s vision; of being a distinguished Christ centered African Institution of higher learning for the transformation of Church and society. The university believes that, after graduating the two girls; Emmah Oriedo and Agnes Mulwa, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science respectively will go out to transform societies in Africa and beyond.
On her part, Mrs. Mbugua-Ndichu expressed her heart most appreciation to both Daystar University and Chase Bank in promoting Inua Dada’s vision of a global community that empowers, upholds the dignity and protects the rights of all girls. She went on to say that the two girls had acquired a new family and mentors who will walk along with them through their journey. The same was expressed by the reiterated by Chase Bank Director of External & Regulatory Affairs Mr. Parmain ole Narikae. He said that in order for Chase Bank to reach its vision of being a Pan African relationship bank, they have set their mission as enabling people to achieve the things that matter to them most. He went on to appreciate the kind of education exemplified by Daystar University in which the transformation of the person is key. In partnering with Inuaa Dada, he saw that, “together we can work to uplift our girls and continue to ensure that they are empowered.”
He added that Chase Bank and the Chase Foundation were very proud of the efforts of Inua dada and they were proud to be associated with partners who create value not just for themselves but for the society at large.
In conclusion he said he looks forward to visiting Daystar University soon with view of looking into other prospects of partnership. He also acknowledged the value and contribution of Daystar University alumni who are currently engaged within his organization.
