Dollar billionaire Dr. Manu Chandaria, the owner of the $2.5 Billion Comcraft Group of companies, yesterday crowned the ongoing 5 days Entrepreneurship School Kenya 2016 training at ILabAfrica, Strathmore University. It has participants from all over Kenya who will engage closely with exciting entrepreneurs, via a ‘learning by doing’ methodology.
The training is meant to given upcoming entrepreneurs an opportunity to question experienced entrepreneurs on a number of topics; exposing them to real experiences and stories of both entrepreneurial success and failure.
The 5 day training will have the participants meet with successful entrepreneurs, develop their entrepreneurial idea and present it to potential partners and investors and also earn a certificate and create a long-term partnerships with like-minded entrepreneurs from all over the world.
Dr. Chandaria talking to the upcoming entrepreneurs on how to be successful, noted that they should be;
- Be able to Sacrifice – You don’t sacrifice, you don’t succeed!
He said, entrepreneurs need to push hard, failure is part of life and failure is progress. Stating that self-drive is needed, as one needs fire in the belly to push amidst difficulty.
Emphasing the importance of technology, he said, “If you don’t adopt technology, you’ll be lost! As an entrepreneur, one needs to change their paths, by always taking their work seriously.”
On company culture, he states that as a company lead, “Any entrepreneur needs to be a team member by being ‘a part of‘ the team and not ‘a boss’. To be a successful entrepreneur, be a team player, learn your team members, known them personally, starting with their names. Learn to appreciate them.”
On his closing remarks, Dr. Manu Chandaria noted that, “Kenyan businesses are 90% privately owned. Stating that entrepreneurs need to work out and support others who are not able. You don’t give, you don’t get.”
He called on all entrepreneurs to learn to ask their leaders for a better business working environment.
