It is the end of the semester. A lot has also happened throughout this semester in different universities, some of which we don’t want to recall. For us who are ending the semester well having not passed through a lot of challenges we just have to thank God for it.

Drivers please be careful. Am talking more so about the campus bus drivers. Yesterday the unexpected happened at “kwavonza”, the nearest market to South Eastern Kenya University. This is the centre where some of our colleagues reside. It is 17km away from the school and hence every student going back to SEKU has to board a bus back to school or else use a motorbike. Bearing in mind that it is end semester, most of the students prefer bus which is more cheaper compared to the motorbike.

Yesterday at around 7 p.m, one of the “Kinatwa” bus, a bus operating to and from SEKU, mistakenly fell into one of the trenches at SEKU-KV road and the student found themselves rolling down the hill. Some of the student had minor injuries and they were rushed to a nearby health centre by the SEKU van and the university ambulance. However there were no serious injuries. Although most of the student were highly tensed, they were able to proceed with their exams today

We kindly call upon our drivers to be careful especially at this time of the semester. Let avoid over speeding and carrying excess students. We really want to finish the exams and end the semester peacefully. Quick recovery to the injured few.
