The East African Cartoonist Society- KATUNI, KUONA TRUST and Nation Media group cartoon competition is here!. This will go down during the Kenya Art Fair 2014 to be held at Sarit Centre Nairobi. The event will take four days starting on 6th and ending on 9th November 2014.

 

cartoon drawKenya Art Fair 2014, is Kenya’s premier art fair in Nairobi, focused on contemporary visual art from the artists in Kenya. The Art fair aims to nurture, appreciate and recognize excellence in the contemporary visual arts. The event will see both the local and international art scenes go head to head against each other in a fairly balanced ground.

 

The event will be thronged by audiences ranging from Artists and Art Enthusiasts, Art Buyers and collectors, General Public that has no access to Art, Urban middle class to Youth/ Students. In the lead-up to the Fair, there will be a comic competition that will be judged by a jury and the awards for this will be presented during the Gala Opening Night. The winner of this competition will have the opportunity to have their work published through the media sponsor. An exhibition of the top cartoon entries will also be set up to be viewed by the general public attending the fair.

 

An award will be presented during the opening Gala Night to the exhibitor with the best stand display. Judging will be done by a jury made up of the sponsors, a member of the Katuni Network and Gado from the Nation Media. On the last day of the Fair, a People’s choice award will be presented for the same, based on feedback provided during the 4 day period.

 

The winners of the competition will bug prizes ranging from 25000 to 50000 Kenya shillings in each cartegory. For more and how to apply please click here
