Chuka University’s 2nd graduation ceremony will be held on 10 October 2014. According to the notice from the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research and Student Affairs), all candidates who qualified for the Conferment of various Degrees and awards of Diplomas and Certificates are invited together with the parents, guardians and guests to attend the ceremony at Chuka University main campus starting at 9.00am on Friday.
The university was started as a Campus College on 27th of September 2004, by Egerton University Council before becoming a fully fledged University on 12th of September 2008. Former President Mwai Kibaki subsequently established and appointed the first Council of the University. After holding its first ever graduation ceremony, more improvements have been registered and this year they are ready to produce their second batch of graduands into the growing demands in the job market.
All prospective graduands are required to confirm their examination results, and the accuracy and order of their names from Offices of respective Deans of Faculties before the graduation day. Those planning to attend, are also required to attend a compulsory rehearsal on Thursday 9th October 2014. The invitation cards will be issued on 8th October 2014 by the respective Deans of Faculties.
Graduands shall be required to pay the following Graduation Fees of which is Ksh 1,000 shall be Alumni Fees :Ph.D. (Ksh5,000); Masters and Postgraduate Diploma (Ksh4,500); Bachelors (Ksh4,000); Diploma and Certificate (Ksh 3,500). The Graduation Fees is be paid at any branch of Kenya Commercial Bank into A/C No. 110 375 5439 ; or Cooperative Bank into A/C No. 011 290 5818 99 00 and an official receipt obtained at the Chuka University Finance Department before Wednesday 8th October, 2014.
The graduation ceremony will give the students cum alumnus a chance to represent their university in their career fields. It will also give them power to showcase their skills and improve on the livelihood of Kenyans and citizens of the rest of the world. This comes even after the Government of Kenya rolled out a graduate internship programme earlier this month which will see fresh university graduates send to teach primary school pupils as they await to be employed in their individual respective careers.
