Diet plays a very important role in condition of the skin. The skin is sensitive to nutritional deficiencies.The skin’s cells are being replaced constantly therefore there is need for a constant supply of nutrients for the production of new cells. Nevertheless the skin is also actively involved in the body’s purifying processes. A healthful diet does more for the health and beauty of the skin than any external applications or cosmetic treatments.
Some conditions of the skin such as acne, allergies , dermatitis and dry skin are common occurrences nowadays and can be prevented by certain foods which protect skin cells and prevent dehydration and premature aging of the skin.some of these foods include:
Peanut

It nourishes and fortifies the skin. Peanuts promote good health both for the skin and mucosa because of its high levels of niacin and unsaturated fatty acids that are essential for skin cell regeneration. The essential fatty acids also play a vital role in the restoration of the skin.

Cucumber

It cleanses and beautifies the skin. It is composed of high water content that hydrates the skin and cleans the bloodstream of toxic wastes. Cucumber acts as an alkaline whereby it neutralises excess acidic wastes produced in the body. It provides sulfur needed for healthy skin cells,nails and hair.Applied directly on the skin,cucumbers are an effective beauty treatment.

Mango

it is the richest in provitamin A in fruits.Because of that and IRS abundance in other antioxidants vitamins like C and E, it contributes to keeping a beautiful complexion and preventing premature aging of the skin. Vitamin A deficiency produces skin dryness and scaling. Eating abundant mangoes is recommended in cases of dry skin as it contributes to proper skin hydration and tone.

Beans 

Beans protect the skin and mucosa. They are very important to the health of intergumentary tissue as they are good source of the vitamin, niacin and pantothenic acid. Niacin deficiency causes pellagra a disease characterised by dermatitis, diarrhea and dementia. Beans are recommended in cases of itching or dry skin.

Aloe

It revitalizes skin giving it better endurance, smoothness and beauty. When applied to the skin it invigorates, Soothes the skin and heals wounds.
Aloe juice has a favourable effect on acne and athlete’s foot.
