During the launch of placement of university And college students for 2019/2020, last month, former Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Amina Mohamed directed Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), the body mandated to carry out the exercise, to open its online application system for students.
Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is the body responsible for placing Kenyan students in public universities once the KCSE results are out.
The CS announced the application exercise would be closed on Saturday, February 23, 2019, after which selected students will be allowed to apply for the inter-varsity change in May.
Some degree courses that had not been approved by the Commission for University Education (CUE) for the 2019/2020 placement have now been cleared and uploaded on the application system for students to apply for.
It has now emerged that the application date has been extended to March, 4th 2019. This is to allow students have ample time to make their selection especially of the additional programmes. The platform has been open since February 6th, 2019.
Furthermore, she reiterated that all candidates who scored C+ and above in 2018 KCSE would proceed to join institutions of higher learning.
Through the portal, one can get access to information concerning available programmes in different institutions, programming clusters, preceding cut-off points, weighed cluster points, and the procedure of application.

Students seeking application support may now access KUCCPS platform services in Huduma Centres across the country. They include; Nairobi (Makadara), Eldoret, Meru, Nyeri, Kisumu, Kakamega, Nakuru, Kitui, Garissa and Mombasa
Those who had already applied/revised their choices but would wish to make further changes in light of the newly uploaded programmes are therefore encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. There will be no additional charges.
