Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement service (KUCCPS) has announced that students who did their KCSE in 2016 are now free to apply for placement in different varsities in the country. According to the notice posted on KUCCPS website, the body mandated with roles of admission will only accept applications from students who scored a grade of C+ Plus and above.
According to the statistics from the examination results released days ago, only close to 89000 students out of 560000 were able to score the required grade for one to join a university under government sponsorship programme.
The placement service said that applications will only be received via schools and that individual applications will be announced at a later date. KUCCPS chief executive officer also said that individuals can visit their schools to fill out the forms before 15th January 2017.
“The Placement Service is pleased to announce that the 2017/2018 placement cycle has commenced and is currently only receiving applications by 2016 K.C.S.E. candidates through their respective schools/ centres. The school application will end on January 15, 2017″, read the notice in part.
“Thereafter, an announcement on revision of degree and diploma course choices by the individual candidates will be made at an appropriate time through the media and the Placement Service website”, the information on the KUCCPS website indicates.
Students will only be charged a given fee during the revision process and non should pay to fill forms that will be submitted via the schools.
