The excitement is tangible at Zetech University a few days ahead of an anticipated visit by His Excellency President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.
This important statement will serve as an endorsement by The Head of State as the institutions commits to increasing efforts to reaffirm its stand as a university and one that is taking the industry by storm.
The varsity staff and students are hard at work as they prepare to extend a warm welcome to the President and detail to him the growth and development of the institution that began as a college 15 years ago.
Commenting on the expectation, Executive Director, Communication, Corporate and Student Affairs Moses Maina said, “It is indeed an honour to host the Head of State at our main campus that has over thousands of students to date. Everyone is busy preparing an unforgettable experience for His Excellency as we undertake to live up to the objectives of universities in this country.”
Maina added that the event will attract high profile guest to accompany the President such as the Cabinet Secretary for Education Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi among other government officials, the Kiambu County leadership, Vice Chancellors from leading university’s and other stakeholders.
The university’s increasing student base is upbeat about the visit and is yearning for an up-close experience with President Kenyatta. Asked his expectations of the visit, Zetech University Student Association Anthony Sifuma expressed that the students are ready and excited to meet interact with the president.
He added that the Commander in Chief will have a sit-in with students where they will express their views on education in the country and seek his opinion on how his government will tackle challenges in the higher education sector.
