The government has announced that Kenya has registered the first death from Coronavirus. The patient who had jetted into the country from Swirtzerland via South Africa had an underlying illness, Diabetes.
This comes at a time when the country has confirmed another 3 new cases bringing the total to 31.
The patient, 66 year old male had been receiving treatment at Agakhan University Hospital. He was one of the patients who had been reported to be seriously ill and requiring life support.
The government through the Ministry of Health has urged Kenyans to ensure that they stay safe during this period. The CS Mutahi Kagwe has noted in various press releases that the response to the spread of the disease will only be enough if people hid to the advise of WHO. The ministry holds that people must stay at home, wash their hands and sanitize and keep social distance.
The country also registered its first case of a recovered patient yesterday. While announcing the good news, the President noted that the country will win the war against the virus.
President Uhuru Kenyatta rolled out various economic stimulus directives that will be aimed at cushioning the general public from incurring huge losses during the hard economic times. The President also announced that there will be a curfew as from Tomorrow Friday 7PM to 5AM.
