Egerton Wasps are through to the finals of Kenya Rugby Union’s second tier rugby tournament commonly known as nationwide league. This is after a one sided rugby affair that saw Egerton Wasps wallop the visiting Eldoret RFC 27-0 in a match played on the dusty and dry pavilion at Egerton University, Njoro.

The match kicked off at around 4.10pm on Saturday with the well polished university side restricting the visitors to their half. By halftime, Egerton led 15-0 through tries from Tony Kiprop, Jack Naftali and Robin Solomon. The 2nd half was a quieter affair dominated by petty mistakes committed by both teams.

The 2nd half also saw an Egerton player(Steve Wamae) being sent to the sin bin for kicking the ball away when the referee had awarded a penalty against the Wasps.Egerton further added two tries from Willis Mwinamo ending the match 27-0.The other Rift Valley region semi final saw University of Eldoret(UoE) beat Kabarak 31-19.
