I once heard someone say, “The more often you say ‘I love you’, the more those words lose its value.” Perhaps for some people, that’s what happens. But every day, you never fail to tell me you love me, and every day, I grow to love you even more. Perhaps I am old fashioned, but I think that an “I love you” is more than just a sentiment of lust or admiration. Their sanctity lies in the fact that it is a statement of an infinite feeling, ever changing but constant. I was never used to saying those words, so when I say “I love you,” what I’m really saying is so much more.

What I’m really saying when I say “I love you,” is that I accept you for who you are, imperfections and all. I see every line and crease in your body and soul and I still think you’re beautiful. I guess what I’m really trying to say is that you are perfect, just the way you are.

What I’m really saying when I say “I love you,” is that you inspire me. You make me want to be a better person. You inspire me to take a chance, to take risks, to speak my mind and to be fearless. You make me realize that life is full of possibilities, because if someone as amazing as you can love me then I could possibly love me too.

What I’m really saying when I say “I love you,” is that I am yours completely and I will always be. I have given you my heart, and I trust that you will take care of it, protect it, and keep it safe, and I promise I’ll do the same for you.

What I’m really saying when I say “I love you,” is that I am so proud to be yours. I somehow feel better and safer with you by my side. I’m very proud of you, of us, of what we have together, and I never want to hide that.

What I’m really saying when I say “I love you,” is that your problems and your troubles are mine to share. Your life is part of my life, and sharing your success and loses makes me realize that from that moment, there is no more “you” and “me”, there’s only “us.”

What I’m really saying when I say “I love you,” is that you’re always going to mean something to me. Even if this ends, even when things get hard, and even if everything comes to worse. You have already left an imprint in my soul, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What I’m really saying when I say “I love you,” is that you made me realize that maybe home is nothing but two arms holding you tight when you’re at your worst, and sure this sounds cheesy, but I could say that I found my home in you.
Baby. I love you.

  1. Awsome and very true because men really love and women confuse there care with love. Its awkward when a man falls in love with his mind because the last time I checked I found out that a real man loves with his heat…
