Amani National Congress, Ford Kenya, Kanu and Wiper has unveiled an alliance ahead of the 2022 elections christened One Kenya Alliance. The new formation described as a highly thought out initiative to unite all Kenyans comes after a series of by-elections across the country. Wiper led by Kalonzo Musyoka carried the day in Machakos after their candidate Agnes Muthama trounced UDA’s Ngengele to win back the Senatorial Seat. Ford Kenya led by Moses Wetangula also won back a Member of Parliament seat in Kabuchai after they also trounced UDA candidate.
Moses Mudavadi with his ANC also trounced both ODM and UDA to win a hotly contested seat in Matungu constituency. Speaking during the launch of the alliance today, Mudavadi condemned the removal of Senator Cleophas Malala as the Deputy Senate Minority leader yesterday. He termed it as an affront to the growing democracy in the country and referred to ODM as playing politics of deceit.
Kalonzo Musyoka also noted that Wiper is standing together with ANC in opposing the move by the ODM party in the removal of Malala. Musyoka noted that the legislator was only removed due to the fact that he had delivered the Matungu seat back to ANC. He also noted that the new alliance will not field a candidate in Bonchanri constituency or in the Juja by-election where they will support the Jubilee Party candidates. Kalonzo also noted that they won’t field a candidate in Garissa following the death of Senator Haji.
Senator Gideon Moi also noted that Jubilee Party was within the alliance and that the presence of Governor Olelengu was an indication of the same. He noted that they had come together to ensure that they take the country forward through the BBI. The young Moi indicated that the alliance has an intention of taking good care of the leadership on the country ahead of 2022.
