Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s detail elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans after one of them slapped a journalist who was blocking the Governor’s way.
The controversial Governor was making his way into the Ethics and anti-corruption commission headquarters when a journalist who was struggling to gain access blocked his way.
The journalist who was struggling to get through security guards was then pulled away by Sonko’s security detail.
Kenyans online were quick to share their opinions regarding that act by the Nairobi Boss’ detail.
A number expressed their support for the Governor and placed the journalist on the wrong side saying that he should not have blocked the Governor.
“The journalist was blocking the entrance after being denied access by the security guards. He was forcefully removed” tweeted Frank Mengi.
“At times journalists are focused on taking close snapshots for purposes of body shaming… I applaud that guard for hammering the cameraman!” commented General Mabwai Martine.
“What was the journalist doing trying to impede the Governor…? Why couldn’t he wait for the Governor to pass…?” added Ghangstar Guru.
Others blamed the Governor for the act and termed that to be a wrong action for a leader to take despite the circumstances.
“Mike Sonko you need to apologize for this,” said Henry Oriwo.
