A technical adviser with the National Super Alliance (NASA) and by extension Raila Odinga, wants Kenya to be divided into two different countries.
David Ndii says in his petition that Kenya has since independence been governed by two communities, leaving the other forty oppressed.
The economist cites the August 8 presidential election where the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission declared Uhuru Kenyatta the winner. The Opposition, led by Raila Odinga, has since rejected the results and is challenging it in the Supreme Court.
Ndii who was one of the more vocal Raila Crusaders, says that just like previous elections, the 2017 polls were marred with massive rigging in favor of Jubilee Party’s Uhuru.
According to the draft seen by Magazine Reel, regions such as Nyanza, Western Kenya, Turkana and the Coast should be separated from Central, Nairobi, Rift Valley and North Eastern Kenya.
He bases his argument on the fact that it is allowed in the Constitution and is now seeking at least one million signatures for the petition to proceed to the next stage.
This is however not the first time Ndii is talking secession. Last year, he authored a controversial article in the Sunday Nation calling for Kenya to be divided into different ethnic nations.
He added that the country would burn if Uhuru was declared the winner in another sham election.

Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans on Twitter;
KENYA IS NOT RUN BY TWO COMMUNITIES! If you cannot distinguish communities from ruling elites you don't even deserve the time

if you are from either of those 2 communities go &tell your 2 fellows that other kenyan communities feel that it is so! @DavidNdii

I believe @DavidNdii is trying to provoke the govt with his treasonous ideas to secede in a bigger plot to portray the govt as autocratic.

I support this brilliant idea. Some people are just tribal jiggers. Parasiting on other marginalized tribes in the name of being in power.
