Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter allow you to find and connect with just anyone, from a coworker, classmate in a neighboring estate or room to the girl who played Emily in your high school production of “she is not the one” years ago.

Browsing these sites can make you feel connected to a larger community but such easy casual connection in an electronic environment can also have its downside.

i. A False Sense of Connection
With 5000 friends on Facebook and 10,000 followers on twitter inducing you into a steamy chat daily will always make you feel superior and a whale of social media only to walk around with nobody recognizing you. Most individuals get into illusions by falling victims of false love, there is no vivid distinction between real and false relationships on social media.

ii. Cyber-bullying
Mostly youth spent a better part of their day in a cyber. Making updates hitting on friends or creating beefs and tweefs. Nobody misses haters on social media especially when you are the controversial type. After receiving hauls of insults from friends of contrary opinion you develop mental scars which leads to esteem humiliation eventually some are driven to suicide.

iii. Decreased Productivity
Some individuals would argue out that the internet has led to increased productivity due to quick responses from Google. But when people start relying on what friends post than their task it eventually result in reduced innovation. Many individuals would believe in what they see online and thrash their views. Students downloading assignments and running away from personal thinking simply makes education irrelevant.

iv. Privacy
Social media has given people a go ahead to be more public about their personal lives. Each minute update and taking photo shots of each event and daily engagements. Things posted online remain available indefinitely. Photos with friends partying seem harmless but same images appear less attractive in the context of employer doing a background check.

Some chaps would argue out to be using filters on who to access their accounts and hiding out several things like photos, tags, profile from the public but to those who skip the settings automatically let their lives to the world to ravel and din it out.
