Holiday is finally over for the University of Eldoret (UOE)students and time to resume for the third session is here. The third session begins for all students apart from the 1st years 2nd Sem Engineering students, and the 3rd years 2nd Sem II who major in BTR, BHO, BTO, TED and HSC
The University of Eldoret is one of the 22 public universities in Kenya and situated approximately 9 km along the Eldoret-Ziwa road in Eldoret town, Uasin gishu County. In 1984, it was converted to a teachers’ training college and renamed Moi Teachers’ Training College to offer Diploma Science Teachers Training. Due to the double intake crisis, the College was taken over by Moi University as a Campus in 1990, renaming it Chepkoilel Campus. From 1990, the University made it a campus of natural, basic and applied science programmes.
In August 2010 the President, through Legal Notice No. 125 of 13 August 2010 upgraded the campus into a University College with the name Chepkoilel University College, a Constituent College of Moi University. Upon the award of Charter by the President on March 2013, the University College was renamed University of Eldoret.
Prof. Paul K. Tarus UOE Registrar of Academics wrote a Memo to students informing them on the opening dates. On the Memo Prof. Tarus said that the third session will be on Sunday 15th May 2016 and classes starts by 16th May 2016.
There are different groups expected to report in the institution on 15th May 2016. Lectures will start on 16th May 2016 to 5th of August 2016 which will take twelve weeks of learning. Students will sit for their examinations on the 15th of August 2016 to the 26th of August 2016 for a period of two weeks.
-1 st years (Sem II) -All Students (Except Engineering)
– 2 nd years (Sem II)- All Students
– 3 rd years (Sem II)- All Students (Except BTR, BHO, BTO, TED and HSC)
– 4 th years (Sem II)- BTR, BHO, and BTO only
The University also wishes to inform all students that accommodation is very limited and the few bed spaces available will be issued to 1st year students who have cleared the fees in full and will be issued on a first come first serve basis only.
