SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri has poured cold water on rumours the betting company will be resuming operations in the country this month, following a viral post on social media claiming the company has been issued with a certificate of operation by the government.

The CEO dismissed the piece of information as ‘Fake News’.
Even as the betting company is struggling for a come back, the sports community is beginning to glow again after being dark for over 3 months.
The English Premier League (EPL) is scheduled for a comeback as from next week. Also, the Bundesliga is ongoing along side South Korea’s K-league and the famous Feroe Island league.
In Spain, Laliga has been given a go ahead and will be back this weekend. Italian Serie A has also not been left behind and will be back alongside EPL next week. This implies that the betting industry is already back on its feet.
Those sports enthusiasts who were dead tired of waiting for them to earn some money from betting can now do so from the comfort of their homes as they adhere to the government directives.
SportPesa’s absence from the betting scene in Kenya has not affected those who would love to continue earning from Betting. Indeed, there are now more than 40 betting companies approved by the government to operate. Some including Betika, Odibets and Mozzarbet have even come up with platforms that were absent on SportPesa. Their virtual bet platforms functions pretty well just like that of Betin which was also shown the door a year ago.
